Third Grade Curriculum

Developing Emerging Interests

The Green Room curriculum, derived from various sources with attention to the interests, strengths, and needs of third-grade students and each cohort, allows for experiences with problem solving, cooperative learning, discovery, exploration, communication, and application of knowledge gained.

Supporting Lifelong Skills

Students in the Green Room are encouraged to take responsibility for their learning, wonder about things, try their best, explain their thinking, learn from their mistakes, move their bodies, practice breathing techniques, consider others’ perspectives, disagree respectfully, name their feelings, and ask for what they need.

These are applied throughout the year and regardless of the themes we are studying. Our daily schedule provides opportunities to practice these important skills.
